Amy Tetalman, M.A., Registered MFT Intern
Amy Tetalman, M.A., received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), and her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara.
Amy primarily works from an insight-oriented approach, incorporating brief goal-directed techniques specifically tailored to the individual client’s needs. She often integrates elements from Cognitive Behavioral, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Family Systems modalities.
Amy has experience working in residential and outpatient settings and in collaborating with other professionals in the treatment team. She has had success in treating clients who present with a wide range of problems, ranging from severe chronic illness and substance abuse, to more temporary difficulties affecting those experiencing life transitions and/or relationship concerns. Amy has a particular interest in working with young adults experiencing depression and anxiety associated with developmental challenges. She sees individuals, couples, and families, of all ages.
As Amy is completing her training hours for licensure, she collaborates with and is supervised by licensed psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists associated with Santa Barbara Behavioral Health. Amy provides care at a reduced fee for those with financial challenges.
