Dr. Felix is assistant research faculty in the Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. Felix has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on children and trauma, school bullying, and prevention programs. She has lectured locally and internationally on education and mental health services for youth and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, and the Society for Community Research and Action.
Dr. Felix offers brief, goal-directed treatment for clients of all ages, with specific expertise in helping children and families struggling with emotional, behavioral, or relationship problems. She has several years of experience providing assessment and treatment services to children, families, and adults in a variety of clinical settings ranging from community mental health centers to a residential treatment center. Although she has experience in successfully treating a range of problems commonly affecting children and families, she has sub-specialized in helping survivors of trauma or crises cope and recover.
